Meet Sabian

Sweet Sabian came to us as an owner surrender.  He had an extremely large tumor on his left front leg.  His owner had lost her job, and was unable to have Sabian treated.  So, Sabian was surrendered to rescue.  Dr. Tony Remillard removed the tumor on January 26, 2009.  Sabian is now recovering from his surgery.  We do not yet know if the tumor was benign or cancerous.  But Sabian will have the best care possible.  We are hopeful for a positive outcome for this precious boy and will be posting updates in the near future.  We will hopefully find Sabian a loving forever home after he has recovered.

Sabian Update

Sabian is doing well since his surgery.  Two incisions had to made into his leg leaving open wounds, so the leg would not swell after the tumor was removed and the area was stitched closed.  The stitches are out, and his leg is almost completely healed.

The biopsy came back indicating that there is a 20% chance the tumor will return in the same location, and a smaller possiblilty that it could appear elsewhere in the body.  We will be keeping a close eye on Sabian.  There is no reason for any tumor to become as large as the one that we had removed prior to detection and removal.

Sabian is adoptable at this time.   If you would like to be considered to adopt Sabian or any of our Special Stories Dogs, or if you would like to sponsor a Special Stories Dog, please email us  micandlego@gmail.com

PLEASE NOTE

To Adopt Any of Our Dogs

  • You must first fill out an adoption application
  • We are not a kennel. Some foster homes may have visitation for the dogs. For the most part, after your application is reviewed and approved, we will bring the dog to visit you
  • In the case of long distance adoptions (further than 25 miles) we will bring the adoption paperwork with the dog on the day of the home visit. This arrangement can also be made for any adoption
  • You will have to sign an adoption contract and pay the adoption fee before the dog can be left with you
